Create a school culture where the staff and students cultivate dynamic relationships and feel valued so they can reach their maximum teaching and learning potential.

• Our CDHS Connections is a dedicated time to foster a culture where the staff and students cultivate dynamic relationships and feel valued so they can reach their maximum teaching and learning potential.

• Connections provides the much needed time and resources to build impactful relationships and character building opportunities with each other without impeding upon the educational time needed for successful academic delivery.

• Each staff member has been assigned a group of students from all
  four grade levels 
  • For example, Mr. Ewing’s Connections group will have four 9th graders, six 10th graders, three 11th graders, and four 12th graders 
• Each student will stay with the teacher throughout their entire 4-year tenure at CDHS. 

• Inspire a culture that will improve behavioral expectations throughout the building

• Continue to build closer relationships with each other, which will in turn allow everyone at CDHS to become more empowered to shape the climate and culture of our school

Students need to have a strong sense of belonging and meaningful relationships in order to be academically successful

• This year we are very excited to implement a homeroom each day

• 7:40 - 7:54AM

• The purpose of our homeroom period is to provide a dedicated time each day to establish and foster meaningful relationships with each other

• In order to ensure our students have a voice and choice with our Connections, we will recruit a diverse committee of students that will provide our Connections Leadership team with feedback and ideas. 

• In addition, they will be the student voice of our Connections  

• Our mission is to have our students take ownership of our Connections to ensure we are fostering student leadership within our school and embracing the true spirit of our Connections Core Values.

• Our Student Committee will meet at least 1 time every 2 weeks with our staff leadership team
